It Takes Balls Takes Home Silver in the 2026 Signal Awards

Less than two weeks shy of the podcast’s fifth anniversary, It Takes Balls took home the Silver award in the Health & Wellness category in the 2026 Signal Awards.

Episode 115, which featured Dr. Sia Daneshmand speaking on his Extraperitoneal RPLND approach and advances in MicroRNA-371, was the episode to receive this prestigious honor. The episode originally aired on April 8, 2026 during Testicular Cancer Awareness Month.

Dr. Daneshmand is Professor of Clinical Urology at USC Keck School of Medicine and one of the foremost experts in RPLND surgery in the world.

It Takes Balls was nominated alongside health & wellness podcasts hosted by celebrities with celebrity guests, such as Hailey Bieber on the SHE MD Podcast (which has nearly half a million subscribers), making this award even more meaningful in such a competitive category.

The Signal Awards recognizes the podcasts that define culture. Their awards body is mission-focused on uplifting the podcast medium by recognizing the most potent, meaningful and unprecedented audio projects being made today.

The Signal Awards Judging Academy is made up of esteemed people such as Jay Shetty, Host, On Purpose with Jay Shetty; Steve McLendon, Head of Product, Podcasts at Youtube; Valentina Bojanini, Director of Audio Content Strategy, TED; Carrie Lieberman, Chief Operating Officer, iHeartPodcasts; and many more.

On the win, Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation board member and It Takes Balls podcast host Steven Crocker said, “It is an incredible honor to be nominated in this category given the caliber of shows It Takes Balls was up against, let alone win Silver. I’m so grateful to TCAF for allowing me to host more than 130 episodes of the podcast and I look forward to hosting many more.”

“When Jordan was diagnosed, nobody was talking about testicular cancer. Steven built It Takes Balls into a place where survivors, patients, and the world’s leading physicians could finally have that conversation openly. Being recognized by the Signal Awards alongside some of the biggest names in podcasting is a testament to what happens when you build something real for the community it serves — not for an audience, but for the people who needed it most,” said Kim Jones, founder of the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation.

It Takes Balls released its 134th episode on the date of the announcement and is available everywhere podcasts can be found, including YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts.
