Treatment Options

Whether you have had or expect to have one or both of your testicles surgically removed, there are options for you to consider.

Surgical:

  • Subcapsular Orchiectomy: Removes much of the tissue from the testicular capsule, leaving a smaller scrotal structure.

  • Testicular Implant: A soft saline filled prosthesis used for cosmetic purposes. An implant can be implanted either at the time of orchiectomy or at a later date.

A testicular protheses is a simple, effective, and safe surgical solution that alleviates the feeling of altered body image for many patients.

Choosing to have a testicular implant is a personal choice. Please know that the implant is for cosmetic purposes only and does not act as a functioning testicle. Missing a testicle can be emotionally challenging so getting an implant can help provide psychological benefits for patients. Talk to your doctor about testicular replacement options to see if an implant is the best option for you.
