Celebrating 17 Years of TCAF: A Memorable 11th Testicular Cancer Conference in Indianapolis

October 8–10, 2026, was a memorable weekend for Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation (TCAF) as we hosted our 11th Testicular Cancer Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. This year's conference held special meaning as October 9 marked TCAF's 17th anniversary. It was also our second time hosting the conference at Indiana University School of Medicine, a place with an extraordinary history of advancements in testicular cancer treatment.

Throughout the weekend, patients, survivors, caregivers, supporters, and medical experts came together to learn, share experiences, and build meaningful connections. From reconnecting with familiar faces to welcoming those attending for the first time, the weekend was a wonderful reminder of what makes this community so special.

A Warm Welcome to Indianapolis

The weekend began on Thursday evening with our Welcome Dinner at 120 West Bar & Grill inside the Hilton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites. It was a wonderful opportunity for attendees to reconnect with old friends, meet new faces, and spend time together before the conference officially began. The room was filled with conversations, laughter, and shared experiences, setting the tone for the days ahead.

For many, these opportunities to connect with others who understand the challenges of a testicular cancer diagnosis are just as meaningful as the educational sessions themselves. Seeing those connections form and friendships continue to grow is one of the things we value most about bringing this community together each year.

A Day of Learning, Connection, and Inspiration

On Friday, October 9, we gathered at Indiana University School of Medicine's University Tower Ballroom for a full day of presentations from leading medical experts in testicular cancer. Our speakers shared important insights into surgical advancements, treatment options for relapsed and refractory disease, emerging biomarkers, mental health, fertility, and quality of life during survivorship. Each presentation offered valuable perspectives on the latest developments in testicular cancer research, treatment, and care.

We were honored to welcome experts from some of the nation's leading cancer centers and medical institutions, including Indiana University School of Medicine, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Penn Medicine, UC San Diego Health, Sutter Health, University of Rochester Medical Center, and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, among others. We are incredibly grateful to these experts for generously sharing their time, expertise, and dedication to the testicular cancer community.

The day also included our Physicians' Q&A Panel and breakout sessions, giving attendees opportunities to ask questions directly to medical experts and participate in more personal conversations. These discussions are an important part of the conference, creating a space where people can learn from experts while also sharing their own experiences and concerns.

We were especially honored to welcome Dr. Lawrence Einhorn as our Honorary Speaker. His groundbreaking contributions to testicular cancer treatment have changed countless lives, and his continued support of TCAF means so much to our organization and community. During the conference, we presented Dr. Einhorn with our Honorary Speaker Award in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to testicular cancer care. We also recognized Dr. Nabil Adra with an Appreciation Award for his leadership and dedication as our Distinguished Lead Chair.

A Special Surprise for BJ Lange

One of the most memorable moments of the conference came when we surprised longtime conference host and TCAF board member BJ Lange with the Jordan Jones Achievement Award. Denver Broncos linebacker and testicular cancer survivor Alex Singleton joined us through a special prerecorded video message. What initially appeared to be a presentation honoring Alex turned into a heartfelt surprise when he revealed that BJ was the actual recipient.

BJ, a two-time testicular cancer survivor, has dedicated so much of his time and energy to supporting this community. From his work as our conference host to his service on TCAF's Board of Directors since 2019, his humor, compassion, and commitment have made a lasting impact. It was a special moment to recognize someone who has given so much to TCAF, and we were grateful to celebrate him alongside the community he continues to support.

Ending the Weekend at Back 9

On Saturday, we wrapped up the conference with our Lunch Social at Back 9 Golf & Entertainment. After a full day of learning on Friday, it was a chance for everyone to relax, enjoy some friendly competition, and spend more time together. The afternoon was filled with conversation, laughter, and plenty of fun, including the opportunity to enjoy CaddySacks, a creative and lighthearted way to bring awareness to testicular cancer.

We are grateful to CaddySack for its continued partnership and its unique approach to raising awareness. Ending the weekend in such a relaxed setting gave attendees one more opportunity to strengthen the connections made throughout the conference, and it was a wonderful way to close out our time together in Indianapolis.

A Heartfelt Thank You
