NIH Research Study: Effects of ALA on Cisplatin-induced Ototoxicity

Research studies have suggested that ototoxicity induced by cisplatin is due to an accumulation of reactive oxygen species and oxidative stress. NIH found that Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) an antioxidant, may have a protective effect on hearing loss induced by cisplatin.
