Before you go out and see the red-suited, sharp-witted character, you should know about his troubled history that gave shape to his character, Deadpool.

1) He’s a cancer survivor.

Deadpool went to Canada to receive treatment through a special weapons development program called Weapon X. Although cancer patients don’t get injected with Wolverine’s DNA, they do go through technologically advanced treatments. And once they have been treated, in a way, they are viewed as a SUPERHERO to many.
